Random thoughts and a Thank You.

25 02 2012

Many Thanks to AlanD from myself and  Craig for his generous donations to the PatCom funds on both sites.  (adding you to the blogroll too :-D   )

My thoughts today have meandered from Constitutional Crisis to OPSEC and the foaming at the mouth I am witnessing on WRSA

That goes right in on my last post.   I think the further time rolls, the more division we will see from those that sing a good tune in the shower but couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket while in group.    Some of us have attempted to call out those that are power hungry and had their chops smacked and ridiculed for it.   Some of us (myself for one) have chosen to sit the sidelines in those discussions and watch how the flak patterns out.   I see many that are delusional and looking for leadership, I see others that have no desire for leadership either on a personal level or as one.   To be leaderless is not a bad thing.   It can work well in the face of the enemy if there is not one particular target to go after.   It leaves them on shaky ground to say the least.   They never know where or when one person will ‘step off the porch’ and that leads them to make mistakes that have far reaching depths.   Expect more of these ‘mistakes’ in the future as TPTwannaB attempt further tightening of the vise we currently are in.

As for the Constitutional items in my head.   I signed up for the Hillsdale College “Constitution 101″ course when they offered it for free as an online course.  I am always a student first and I will take all the courses as I can fit into my schedule.   I am always looking for that “other point of view” on any matter and this is no exception.   I have read several papers on the matter, including some that are borderline hateful of the document: just to see the merits of argument.   As is, the course is in the first week and this week is more of a preliminary to the remainder of the course.     I would love to attend Hillsdale seeing they level of education they demand of their students and the fact that they are more inclined to the Quadrivium than most other schools in this country.

But I digress.   My thoughts on that go to the ABSOLUTES written in the Constitution itself.     Equality.   An absolute (though it was amended from the bat but no matter, can be written OUT this time around)  Rights granted by GOD, not man.  Also an absolute, can only be ‘restricted’ by man, not granted.  There are more and I leave that as an exercise to you at this point.    My points are (and that of the school and others) is that absolutes are not ‘adjustable’.   They can’t be “Progressed” past what they already are.   Hence, the Progressives want to ‘correct’ something that is at its finest form.    Twisting the words will only ‘regress’ an item, not improve what can’t be improved upon.    Some could say that ‘the founders needed to word it better’ to which I say, go for it.   See if you can improve it, WITHOUT cluttering the passage up with multiple details that only complicate the matter further.   There is a reason for the punctuation within those passages and without it, they words can be twisted.

But how many even understand our Constitution in this country?    How many have actually read it, thought about what it means?    How many have thought about the people that tried, honesty tried to write that document to endure the ages that they would never see?  These people had much bigger visions than any of us today (I may be wrong but I feel it with my soul that I am right on this one)   There were some that had interests in gaining power from those words and that is a point that can be argued all over the place with no real result forthcoming from them.   (without them to speak for themselves, we can never truly know the intent of some of the individuals, we can only speculate.) Little needs done to get BACK to the original intent and what we have today is 180 from that intent.

I can honestly say, having done my reading today, that there are very few individuals speaking their minds on the net, that could even come close to fulfilling the needs of that document.   There may be a 3% run in those that would wish for a return to that, but that 3% could never replace what was written then.   Our education system has insured that fact. (And I am not claiming to be able to do so, I know better, but I am also honest enough to admit that I would not be able to do so.)

I see what is coming.   I see the divisions in the community of the Freefor.   I see the factions on the opposing team forming up.    I see the economy ashambles.   I see possible events that may or may not bring on further repression.   I see so much and I see only one solution that holds promise.   Getting our shit together NOW so that when we need the support of others,  its there.

None of us is an Island (HT to Pete, I agree) but we are not insects either.   We can work as a team, but we need to respect the individual first.     Progressive/socialism/communism/whatever monkey word we use today, will never NEVER recognize the individual except as a point of manipulation.

We are better than that.

Lets prove it.

A co-worker of mine is taking Constitution 101 @ Hillsdale and letting me know what it is about. First week was informative but a little to deep in the “Art” of the Constitution.

yeah, I found it so too. There is some merit to that as it shows a respect for the words as an artform, and they are. I have read both Federalist and Anti-federalist papers, I read the Holograph of Liberty, I have read Spooner and many others. There are always arguments for and against. I think the biggest issue is not the document itself, but the division that has grown between the people and those words. So many that I meet on a daily basis find reading “boring” or “that’s all above me”. At least that last bit are honest in their ignorance.
Still, it is just a piece of paper and if the people won’t support it, it sure can’t support the people. I think we are starting to see the disconnect there. It has been coming ever since Spooner published his papers back in the 1800′s.

Although I agree that the document is a work of Art by our founding fathers I have not had the schooling (education) that they had access to, whether by instruction or experience. I have not read the works that you mention and am obviously trying to understand, I think that this is all good for the education of us backwoods folk who can understand the basic principles but lack the references to understand the connections that the founders may have took for granted.
There is no disconnect for me as the words still ring true in my heart. I will look up Spooner to see what was written however the document has always been at the core of my beliefs whether or not I am able to articulate the intricacies.

I didn’t have that education either. I have (somewhat) forced it on myself over the last few years. My library has been growing (thank goodness for technology, those deadtree editions would be hard to haul around with me) as has my knowledge of what was NOT taught in school.
Our current ‘education’ system is very much an indoctrination machine, not an education one. Our founders, for the most part, were homeschooled and the standards of the time were still very much that of the Latin Thinkers mode. (more on it here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_education_movement)
There is much more about our world than was taught to me in my twelve years of school. I am not officially college educated, nor will I ever be at present course and speed. BUT, I do take education seriously as can be attested to by friends and colleagues. Make the time to learn and you will find that your desire for more grows.

I signed up for the Hillsdale course but haven’t taken the time to drop in. Mainly wanted to see the difference (expected) between what they are discussing and what I learned and studied years ago.

Never doubt for a second mankind’s ability to completely f*ck up even the simplest ideas or philosophies.

If you can ever make the time, and don’t mind wading through a bunch of crap, read about the early history of the Church (the Catholic one). The nature of Jesus and his relationship to the Father, what did or did not fit into the New Testament, the list goes on.

Again, I handled it poorly, but that was the main reason I fought with Bill over his MBV stuff. After reading several of the comment threads over at WRSA, something I don’t usually do, it’s clear that we have far greater problems than the Bill/Mike fight.

Perhaps the silver lining in this cloud of crap is that we’re ID’ing the no-kidding keyboard commandoes that are trying to secure a place on other’s coattails.

That whole rabbit hole over at WRSA is just hillarious to me. Tom B. nailed it when he started that whole CPX. Most people just don’t get that its NOT all about getting the Feds nervous.
I don’t want to go into it too much here and blow the cover, but think hard about what has happened since it went public. Tom is slick, I knew that from his book and some of his interviews that I watched. Thing Polygonal planning and diagnostics in this sense. CPX Foxtrot is doing just that.

blast me, you know you want to.
